Report: Bulgaria may ban Lukoil's plant from exporting fuel
MOSCOW, Dec 1 (PRIME) -- The Energy Committee of the National Assembly of Bulgaria has approved in the first reading a bill forbidding exports of fuel from a refinery owned by Russia's Lukoil, newspaper 24 Chasa reported late on Wednesday.
The draft passed the reading in spite of objections from Deputy Prime Minister Hristo Aleksiev and Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov that the plant would be suspended if exports discontinue, because some of the products are not consumed in Bulgaria.
According to Aleksiev, Lukoil's units Lukoil Neftohim Burgas and Lukoil Bulgaria planned to start paying taxes in the country and fully transfer economic activities to the country in 2023.
